What does supervised RBT support look like in Miami?

A Registered Behavior Technician works directly with a child to practice goals from a treatment plan designed and supervised by an appropriately qualified clinician. Activities may look like building with colorful blocks, practicing communication during games, taking turns, participating in a simple classroom-like routine, or celebrating a small new step. These activities must be chosen according to the supervising clinician’s plan and each child’s needs.

Play and real-life skill practice

Children may practice requesting, waiting, taking turns, recognizing emotions, or participating in everyday routines through developmentally appropriate play. An RBT helps implement the supervising professional’s instructions and records relevant observations.

A Miami-area support partner

Hopeful Minds welcomes availability inquiries from Miami, Coral Gables, Doral, Kendall, Hialeah and nearby Miami-Dade communities. Travel and session setting are discussed case by case and depend on clinical arrangements, scheduling, and the child’s plan.

What parents can ask first

You do not need to send medical records or diagnosis details over WhatsApp. Start with your general neighborhood and whether you are already working with a BCBA or an ABA agency. Jennifer can discuss the next step and whether a supervised placement might be possible.

Insurance and Florida Medicaid questions

Ask about private insurance, Florida Medicaid and self-pay pathways. Provider enrollment, network status, eligibility, medical necessity, and authorization must be confirmed with the responsible participating provider; RBT certification alone does not guarantee independent insurance billing.

Common questions

Does Jennifer independently diagnose autism or prescribe ABA treatment? +

No. A Registered Behavior Technician does not independently diagnose or create treatment plans. RBT support requires qualified, ongoing supervision.

Is service available throughout Miami? +

Miami-area requests are considered, including nearby Miami-Dade neighborhoods, based on schedule, geography, appropriate clinical supervision, and fit.
